Choosing
Choosing
Junior Trainer asked Senior Trainer what was the secret for Senior Trainer's success as a trop trainer and dressage rider.
Senior Trainer’s reply was clear and simple “ WATCHING, LEARNING AND TRAINING, WATCHING, LEARNING AND TRAINING, WATCHING, LEARNING AND TRAINING and Making the right choices”,
“What do you mean ?“ Junior asked
Senior Trainer explained that at every junction of life ,equestrianism no different, one has to choose which way, what road , left or right, make the right decision and the goal gets nearer a wrong turn and the journey may never end.
He continued to elaborate , our first decision when setting up on the voyage of riding is what discipline should we choose to spend our life dedicated for.
If the fear of heights causes our body in to rigour mortise like posture then obviously Show jumping should not be our choice of equestrian activity, if from child hood we learnt that haste is the root of all evil then a race horse is unlikely to satisfy our inner needs.
Once dressage been identified as the most compatible activity to our character then choosing the right trainer for us is the next major decision to be made, it is pertinent that the trainers teaching style compliment our learning style.
And then comes the long mundane period of ; WATCHING, LEARNING AND TRAINING, WATCHING, LEARNING AND TRAINING, WATCHING, LEARNING AND TRAINING , until it is time to make another choice that will influence the rest of our life”.
“WHICH ONE ?” Junior asked excitedly.
Senior Trainer smiled and continued “ it is the all important SELECTING OUR LIFE PARTNER choosing the right horse to ferry us on the voyage to stardom , the right horse for us and the judges, and more WATCHING, LEARNING AND TRAINING, WATCHING, LEARNING AND TRAINING, WATCHING, LEARNING AND TRAINING .
“Competing competing brings us to the next junction that requires consideration and not to be taken lightly , which shows shell we take our horse to , where will we gain the all important positive experience and create the long lasting feel good effect “
At that moment Junior Trainer interrupted Senior Trainer and said “I am glad you touched on this ,it is something I wanted to ask you ages ago HOW DO YOU CHOOSE which show to go to?”
Senior Trainer replied “Simple my son, Simple LOGIC, according to the chosen JUDGES”
