The WEG Grand Prix was coming to its climax the spectators were completely involved OOOHING AND WOOOING AS EACH MOVEMENT WAS PERFORMED , Clapping hands enthusiastically for a good performance , groaning in sympathy for unexpected mistake . With the scores coming up on the electronic display board as soon as a movement was completed it was clear how knowledgeable the spectators are .
With all the excitement surrounding the competition only few spectators noticed the two judges walking towards the judges only loos , during a short break of the competition. One was led by a Seeing Eyes Dog and the other with a long tapping stick searching for any obstructions in his way.
Standing next to each other one said “Is that you ? Gustavo”
“That’s me Felix , How is the judging going ?” the one with the dog replied with a question.
Gustavo buttoned up his pants picked up his stick and started to tap his way out of the judges only loos,
“Between me and you Felix I don’t think I will be able to carry on judging for much longer”
“WHY THAT ?? you have been doing it all these years why stop now when dressage gets so exiting?”
“Well you see Felix I am starting to lose my HEARING”
And Ken Braddick from dressage-news.com thinks that crowd participation in the judging is some new modern development for the sport.
