NEW YEAR RESOLUTION

NEW YEAR RESOLUTION . I few days before Christmas I received a phone call from a stressed "Junior Trainer" , it was clear he was suffering from DTSS (Dressage Trainers Stress Syndrome ). The sudden cause for this condition was the recent performance of his star pupil "Plump Lady ", in the build-up for the My Quest " halt only championship ", scheduled for next year via Zoom streaming . According to "Junior Trainer" "Plump Lady " lost any ability to focus and concentrate on the job , her riding is erratic and she regularly forget the HALT in the "Halt only test". Clearly Junior was at his wits end and required reassurance from someone with years of experience in dealing with Dressage plump ladies . I explained to Junior that the deterioration in Plump Lady's riding have nothing to do with his training skills or teaching techniques , but are simply Pre Christmas last minutes jitters, that every married woman goes through when having to juggle the last-minute preparations of kids, husband ,presents, food etc etc. etc, the My quest HALT ONLY championship is like marital interactions THE LAST THING ON HER MIND . I assured him that once the festivities are over and the New Year is in , Plump Lady's riding will resume the acceptable level of incompetence . "Thats exactly what I am worried of " Junior Trainer replied " Plump Lady assured me that her New Year resolution is !!! that for next Christmas she is not leaving everything for the last minute , instead she will start preparing early in the year " he continued with a tone of voice indicating an increased level of DTSS.
