Flossy is well known to many on the British Dressage Forum as a teller of interesting stories and perhaps the odd joke or two. We have selected a few tales for your pleasure.

Freezing Addington

The Addington High profile show last week was the ultimate test of dedication and commitment for any dressage enthusiasts.
The show tested not so much the commitment of the riders but of the competitor’s support teams , only the hardest of Dressage husbands, trainers (senior or junior) ,grooms, parents and others could face the bitter cold weather in support of their riders.
For those that had to spend more than few minutes by the outside arenas the experience was like an SAS arctic training mission, a frost bite is something one would look forward to in compression to how cold it was by the working in arena.
Next to me a well-known Senior Trainer was trying to overcome the frozen airwaves between his walky talky , the student’s ear piece and deliver some intelligent instruction while skipping from leg to leg with waving frozen hands in order to keep body at living temperature.
I could not avoid noticing the big smile of relief on his face as he suddenly walked towards a well-covered female standing with her rear towards us , he pinned his cold body to hers from behind and shoved his frozen hands where only the bravest of men would do .
The woman turned around and with a look that lowered the temperature by another 10 degrees she screamed “WHAT THE F,,,,,, you think you are doing !!!”
The senior trainer disengaged from any physical contact and apologized “ Sorry I thought you were my Wife”
“ I DON’T LOOK ANY THING LIKE YOUR WIFE” was her expected responds.
To which the senior Trainer reply was “you are right but I was not looking at your FACE”
