The new BD championship

In responds to a letter in the horse and hound accusing British Dressage for not looking after the needs of the majority of the membership, THE SUB GRASS ROOTS MEMBERS, the soon to be elected marketing director came up with revolutionary idea.
British Dressage will run a new championship called ” into dressage“ with qualifying rounds at all the premier leagues shows.
The competition will run in the following form ; competitor will enter the arena with or without a horse, mounted is optional , on reaching the X marker ,halting optional but if done so then must show enough ground cover and “ sit “. The competitor will indicate verbally that he knows what are the two English letters that appears on the British Dressage logo .A correct answer will qualify the partnership to the national finale where the competitors will have to spell the whole words of “ British Dressage “ while mounted , however rocking horses acceptable.
In order to uphold the principles of fair sport, open to all, the use of electronic devices like I pads or smart phones will be permitted during warming up BUT not allowed during the actual competition.

The FEI as always recognises a good thing when they see it and adapts it as their own, from next year they will run a similar competition , being international it will be slightly more challenging as competitors will be required to memorize the three letters of the FEI logo. This challenge will be known as the FEI amateur championship.
